Railway track cycling on the coal railway 

The tour starts and ends at the main station in Hattingen. After a few kilometers on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path you get to the heart of the tour, the Luck on the road or coal train. Built over 100 years ago to transport coal, it now serves as a cycling and hiking trail. The first 17 kilometers of the tour lead south to Sprockhövel. Since it is slightly uphill, the circuit is one of the more demanding RevierRoutes in radrevier.ruhr. Arrived at the southernmost point of the tour, you make your way north again. The next destination is Wengern on the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path.

Once you have arrived in Wengern, you will then ride on the RuhrtalRadweg, which scores with its impressive landscape. The Nightingale colliery and the crossing with the Ruhr valley ferry Hardenstein are the highlights on this section of the tour. Plan some time to visit the Nightingale colliery. The LWL Industrial Museum presents the early phase of industrialization in the Ruhr Valley and brings you closer to the exciting history of the region. With the LWL Industrial Museum Henrichshütte Hattingen Another highlight awaits you at the end of the tour. Visit the impressive site where today's oldest blast furnace in the Ruhr area is located.
