Bike tour for beginners from Haus Ripshorst to the RS 1

This 18-kilometer short beginner's tour starts right on the House Ripshorst in Oberhausen. One RevierRad station also rents bikes here (please reserve in advance!), you can also find out a lot about the Emscher Landscape Park here. The tour will first take you through this node system through the Hexbach valley in the direction of Mülheim an der Ruhr. Past fields and riding stables, the rural Ruhr area can be wonderfully experienced here.

Traveling on railway lines in Essen

After leaving Essen-Schönebeck, the route meets the Rhenish railway. The Ruhr expressway will soon be here – RS 1 - run, but it still goes over a water-bound ceiling in the direction of Essen-Zentrum. At the Borbeck junction, the tour turns left and continues north on a former railway line. Behind the train station in Essen-Borbeck, the tour takes you along smaller residential streets, which are also well signposted with the red and white cycle signs. On the Rail Park Frintrop you return to the starting point at Haus Ripshorst.

Note on the discovery tours in the radrevier.ruhr

This tour is one of the discovery tours im radrevier.ruhr. This means that it also leads along cycle paths that are not part of the region's figureheads. However, accepting compromises in the quality of the cycle path also means being able to “experience” “undiscovered” tours off the popular and often heavily frequented cycle paths. Is a good path condition important to you? Then you should rather come to our 15 RevierRoutes drop by!
