Since 2021, the GRAVEL GAMES on the last weekend in September have been an important must-attend event for friends of gravel sports. On the premises of Zeche Ewald Herten is home to the Who's Who of the Gravel scene. The latest trends and bikes can be found directly on the neighboring Hoheward dump and the surrounding gravel roads can be tried out and intensively tested. The GRAVEL GAMES are Germany's largest gravel bike event and many well-known companies in the bike scene are exhibiting their products on the Expo site.

Unfortunately, the GRAVEL GAMES will not take place in 2024.

The Gravel Rides: Free guided tours in the area

In addition to the sporting competitions, the many guided gravel tours are also interesting for visitors. Local guides and gravel fans present their favorite tours and take you with them to the region. With the GPX data or directly with Komoot, you can of course also cycle the tours independently at any time. This is how the GRAVEL GAMES become intense gravel enjoyment for all visitors.

Conditions of participation for guided tours with a guide

1. A signed liability waiver (available when registering, which is possible from Saturday, September 23.09.2023rd, 09 at 30:XNUMX a.m. at the radrevier.ruhr stand).
2. The guided group tours are only possible with a helmet.
3. An (e-)gravel bike
(Participation with a racing bike, mountain bike fully, trekking bike with mudguards, cargo bike, folding bike, etc. is unfortunately not possible. Registration with MTB hardtail is only possible 30 minutes before departure, provided there are still free places available. This classification will not be made in order to deliberately exclude people. Experience in recent years has shown that the groups otherwise become too heterogeneous and this affects the enjoyment of riding for everyone. By the way, rental gravel bikes are available locally.
