If you want to discover as many highlights as possible on a bike tour in the Ruhr area in a short amount of time, the "trial piece" is perfect for you. On around 29 kilometers you get an insight into almost everything that the Ruhr area has to offer for cyclists: historical industrial monuments and workers' settlements, impressive heaps, disused ones railway tracks, quiet canal bank paths, small shops typical of the Ruhr area and even a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will quickly notice how green and diverse the Ruhr area is!

29 kilometers of cycling full of highlights 

The RevierRoute begins and ends on the premises of the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein. From there they will guide you Customs union route and the Kray-Wanner Railway for Rheinelbe dump. After you have enjoyed the great view of Gelsenkirchen and the surrounding area, continue to ore train booth. At the cult kiosk of owner and bike fan Holger you can take a break and talk to other cyclists.  

Railway line, canal bank path & workers' settlement 

The measured values can be transferred to a PC via the ore railway route it goes further along the Rhine-Herne Canal North Star Park in Gelsenkirchen. If you feel like getting a taste of the heap air, we also recommend a detour to the Schurenbachhalde. On the last few kilometers you cycle through the workers' settlement Hegemannshof/Meerbruchstraße before you arrive back at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zollverein.
