Experience the RevierRoute Auenland - Den Rhein

In the Ruhr area, you can not only cycle along the eponymous Ruhr, but also discover the Rhine by bike. The extensive Rheinauen are ideal for long bike tours on and next to the dikes. A visit is particularly worthwhile in spring, when the diverse flora and fauna along the Rhine blossoms in bright colours.

Traveling by bike and ferry

The circular tour starts and ends in Wesel and takes you around 53 kilometers south along the Rhine. When you arrive in Orsoy, you take the Rhine ferry across to the opposite bank of the river. From there it goes back through tranquil villages and open landscapes. The impressive Lippe estuary delta is the last major highlight of the bike tour before you return to Wesel.

Unique views in the Rheinauen

The 130 vertical meters of the tour can be mastered without much effort. Only the sometimes strong wind can make you sweat on your forehead in the vicinity of the water. Don't let that stop you! You will be rewarded for your efforts with a unique highlight tour in the countryside, which differs greatly from the classic industrial culture tours in the radrevier.ruhr.
