Railway routes in the Ruhr area - the Springorum route
The Springorumtrasse is the ideal connection for cycling in Bochum from the city center to the Ruhr Valley. The former railway line runs on the best asphalt with only a few road crossings, mostly away from road traffic over a length of 9,7 kilometers.

This is the main attraction along the way Castle Weitmar with the art museum "Situation Art" and the "Museum underground". It is also worth taking a look at the many information boards in the lower area of the Springorumtrasse, as they are part of a mining history nature trail and provide exciting information about the history of the early collieries in the Ruhr Valley.
