Riverside paths in the Ruhr area – The Rotbach path
With a total length of 18 kilometers, the Rotbach-Weg can be ideally integrated into a day tour in the western Ruhr area. From the Grafenmühle in Bottrop, the cycle path runs rather inconspicuously at the beginning, then later as a classic riverside path directly on the water to the mouth of the Rotbach into the Rhine near Dinslaken. The character of the cycle path changes over the short route between a casual forest path, a nice riverside path and an urban city trail.
Pure nature – in the middle of the forest
For many cyclists, the large forest area west of the Grafenmühle is one of the most relaxing parts of the Rotbach Trail. The peace and fresh forest air quickly ensure an intensive break from everyday stress. If you want to get some exercise beforehand, you can do so with the one nearby Halde Haniel the right challenge.
Suitable day tours on the Rotbach-Weg
Completely over that node system There is a circular signposted 48 kilometer long circuit, the one from OLGA Park about the Jacobibahn leads to the Haniel dump and then continues along the Rotbach-Weg to the Rhine. The way back then runs over the HOAG route back to Oberhausen.
