Small bike tour through Hamm
Starting from Hamm's main train station, this 20-kilometer bike tour first takes you to the Lippe embankment, which runs between the Datteln-Hamm Canal and the Lippe River. Crossing the beautiful white bridges, the tour leads past the Radbod spoil heap to the impressive Radbod colliery site with its three headframes.
Through the Lippeauen back to the canal
The tour then takes you east along the former coal railway line, across the grounds of the former Sachsen coal mine, though little remains of the mine itself. The route leads through the historic town of Heessen to Heessen Castle and then back through the Lippe meadows to the Datteln-Hamm Canal. Passing the spa gardens and the Maximare adventure thermal baths , the tour finally follows the canal back to Hamm city center and the last few meters back to the main train station.
