Holiday idea 3: A long bike weekend (2 nights / 3 days)

A classic to experience a short cycling holiday without vacation days. If you can finish work early on Friday and get to the Ruhr area quickly, you can do a first introductory tour on the same day. Classic all-day tours follow on Saturday and Sunday and at the end you can look back on an eventful cycling weekend.

Short tour to Einradeln

On the day of arrival there is often time for a short tour. Our "Short bike tours in the radrevier.ruhr' offer the right choice. For example, if you decide to stay overnight in Bochum, you could still do the "Small Bochum round“ drive 18 kilometers and already get a nice first impression of the Ruhr area. The "real" Dönninghaus Currywurst at the Bratwursthaus would of course be the stylish culinary start to the weekend.

The discovery tour "Between workers' settlements and colliery towers"

On the second day you can immerse yourself in the history of mining and take our discovery tour to some photogenic colliery towers and beautiful workers' settlements. This mining bike tour is of course rounded off with an extensive visit to the German Mining Museum in Bochum. And if you still want to experience something in the evening, you can watch a musical STARLIGHT EXPRESS the world championship of international trains.

Also include public transport in your travel planning

On the third day you could, for example, first take the train from Bochum main station to other cities in the Ruhr area and then cycle back in a relaxed manner. How about Mülheim an der Ruhr, for example, to spend a day on the best railway cycle paths to spend in the region? From Mülheim it goes over the new one Cycle expressway Ruhr and the Rhenish Railway after eating and on to UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein with several exciting museums and exhibitions. About the railway line cycle paths Customs union route and Kray-Wanner Railway it goes to Rheinelbe dump and on to the cult bike stop ore train booth, before the last few kilometers over the ore railway route lead back to Bochum
