MTB in the Ruhr area - The Sparkasse Trail on the dump in Northern Germany

On Halde Northern Germany In Neukirchen-Vluyn lies the Sparkasse Trail, one of the most demanding mountain bike trails in the entire Ruhr area. It is actually not just “one” trail, but three trails with different levels of difficulty. The terrain appeals primarily to freeriders who are looking for air time with the appropriate equipment.

One dump, three trails

All three trails run exclusively downwards from the heap plateau on the north-east flank of the heap. An easy access is possible via an access road in the north-west of the dump. The blue descent is still easy. Of course, those descending should have their bike under control here too, because some passages are quite narrow. Attention: the blue exit is rarely used and is therefore often used as an access route.

Freeriders also get their money's worth

The red trail is the most versatile of all. The big jumps challenge good freeriders, but at the same time the most difficult sections can still be easily avoided. The black trail should then be reserved for professionals. The Halde Northern Germany with the Sparkasse Trail is not suitable for beginners and families. Advanced touring bikers will find their way on the easier trails, while the most demanding sections will put a grin on the faces of even hard-core freeriders.
